A new release is available. It can be easily installed by simply selecting "Helpoftware Updates:Find and Install.." and then "Search for Updates of Installed Features".

The many improvements include L&F, bug fixes, code generation improvements, and additional model validation.

I am experiencing a problem with this new release that I did not
have in the previous release. I am unable to delete items from
the model. For example, I add items to a rule, an Evaluation for example,
and then I cannot remove it. I have had to go into the model file
itself to remove items.

Just an FYI.

Otherwise, this release had really helped with building the model
and removing various code generation issues. Thanks Miles!

NP! I wasn't able to reproduce your problem. What I tried was adding a Rule to an existing agent and then adding an Evaluate and I was able to delete it. Check the error log (WIndowhow View:Error Log) and see if there is anything reported there. Otherwise perhaps there is an issue with the file -- you might post the version that you had trouble with and the steps that didn't work.

btw, I've fond that editing the model (the XML code) directly is very difficult. The problem is that if you delete something, there are references left that are scattered throughout the model file. Unless you painstakingly search for every occurrence of the ID you will end up with an invalid file.

I have learned it is very painful indeed.

I noticed also I could delete some things but not others. What I
had done just as an FYI was I was trying to do the 3rd step in
the series of models you and I were discussing. When I was adding a
food production rule, at the very end I added a set, much like
the example you forwarded me. That set I added prematurely, and
wanted to deleted it. I couldn't. I would select it, delete it,
and it would remain. I even deleted it, closed the model, and
reopened, nothing.

Does this make more sense Miles?

I will try to do a better job of explaining step by step issues.
I am not exactly doing a great job in describing my problems
but amazingly you have been able to do a great job in helping me
out and I greatly appreciate it.

Miles

I have an example of where I cannot delete something. Maybe this
is expected behavior. Look at the .metabm file I am including with
this post. If you go to Bug->Acts->Grow->Increment Size and select
Increment Size and try to delete that Evaluation, it will not let you.
Is that by design? I can delete the Grow act, but not the Increment
Size evaluation.
